Orcs Rugby CLub Salzburg
ORCS is the newest Rugby Club in Austria. Our goal is to grow the sport of rugby in Salzburg, by offering a fun and inclusive environment.
Founded this year, we encourage development through game based drills, with a focus on fun!
The fun doesn’t end at the whistle either! Currently, we’re looking for ways to show games and planning social events.
MeEt the Coach
Your coach Aidan Ward, started his coaching career with Bayside Sharks, in Surrey, Canada; teaching the basics at the youth level.
After moving to Montreal, he became a head coach at Rugby Club de Montreal, developed an incredible coaching staff. Then, broke a near decade old losing streak, and launched the women’s program into it’s now dominant state.
Following success at RCM, Aidan moved across town to start as the new men’s head coach at Westmont Rugby Club, oldest non-university rugby club in North America.
In 2025 Aidan had to put a pause to his coaching career to follow his wife across the Atlantic and move to Salzburg, Austria.
This is where he is today looking to grow his favourite sport in Salzburg, with the goal of making Salzburg Austria’s rugby region.

RFC BAd Riechenhall
RFC Bad Reichenhall is the closest rugby union team to Salzburg. Currently, they play in the third division of the German Bundesliga. With one of the most beautiful rugby pitches in the world, they offer a thrilling attacking style rugby and an incredible day of live sport.
ORCS and RFCBR have a close relationship, with Bad Reichenhall being the natural next step for any Salzburg touch player looking to try a more physical version of Rugby.
RFCBR have been supportive of Orcs Rugby Club Salzburg’s launch, and ORCS wants to repay that by growing local rugby fans.
